What is Republic Domain?
Republic Domain is not a politicaly sided idea, it was just born of the idea of a true repubublic where everone is equal. The way the music industry is set-up at the moment is heavily top down, with the big labels, streaming platforms, radio stations, media organisations all looking after each other, whilst like majority of artists are stuck in an ever onward loop of diminishing returns. Republic Domain wishes in its small but forward looking way to redress this balance and give artists the tools that they need to promote themselves and others and reach the audience that want to hear them without having to scream into the pockets of those whoes main wish is to extract value from something they've never added to.
So whats the plan?
The key word in the above title is "we" ie this is not a one man mission to change the world, its a very much open project that will only sucseed with like minded enthusiasm. I have met many in the industry with common problems and common gripes, the main one being unable to reach fans unless you throw money at the burning building that is the music industry at present.
These are 3 missions for Republic Domain.
Give artists a space to promote themselves
It's a sad fact that there are more people making a living out of artists that are trying to promote themselves, than there are artists making a living. We hope to give musicians the tools to get their music and message across without being fleeced by the many pirates of the industry.
Give fans the tools to engage the world about their love for an artist or genre.
Some people like music, some live it and for those poeple that want to shout and scream about their new obsession we provide a place for them to rant about it to their hearts content.
We're all in this together
Give everybody a platform to promote the scene/s they are into, from their own musical output, to their local area or worldwide scene. We all love music, from making to listening and we all want to hear the new latest sounds, but it can be hard to find your music in the white noise of the media machine, we hope to be a one stop place for you to connect to the music you love
How will we achive this?
